oml

Harvard interview tomorrow!

AHHHHH

i am in love

I totally spaced out and didn't mention the Darren Criss concert I went to on Saturday with Madi and Annie! He is far better live than in any of his recordings, or even Glee (I know, it's hard to believe), and even though I didn't know the lyrics to most of what he sang, I definitely will by his next concert!

Oh also, he is so beautiful.

If I  said someone else was perfect in the past I was wrong, because Darren is the epitome of perfection.
He was on key, he was funny, he played piano and guitar very well, he was wearing a bow tie, he was really into the music, he has a really nice jaw line... basically I could go on forever.

I took a bunch of videos and pictures, but you cant see anything! I'll post them later.

oh man.

Update!

Well SOOO much happened since I last posted.

1. RAIN and WINTER BREAK WOO!!

2. The Birthday Party- Ok. So my whole living was decorated with christmas lights, guest list was ready, bouncers were in place (aka Carsten and Chris). Then I found out that the entire world knew about my party (samo, venice, crossroads, loyola, college people, college graduates etc), so that was fun. Once people started showing up, my entire living room, dining room and balcony were stuffed with people, most of whom I didn't know, to the point where I couldn't walk from one end of my house to the other. I would say that 1/3 of the people there didn't even know who I was. People were climbing in through windows, over fences and in to my house through my neighbors yards. But really. I feel like all I did the whole night was yell at people who I didn't know to get out of my house, not that any of them did. I think I am just too short. Then towards the end of my party someone stole my computer out of my dads office. AAARG. I was so mad because EVERYTHING was on my computer (including college essays). So I cried a lil and Dylan sat with me while my friends kicked everyone out. And then everyone helped me clean up.
*Sidenote: I literally have the best friends ever. Madi, Sara and Dalia helped me set up and Madi kicked everyone out. Nicole was helping me the whole night and she even took a slap/punch/shove in the face. Plus she started the whole "Pam's Computer Fund" thing. Dennys and Annie were my lovely bouncers. Katie, JC, Jayant, JJ, Lori, Isaac, Shervin, Zoe, Dennys, Annie, Nicole, Emily, Nick, Josh, Henry, Dylan and everyone else helped me clean up in like 10 minutes. I LOVE MY FRIENDS.

3. I-Hop breakfast! I love everyone who went, except for that scary clown guy. Thanks you guys.

4. Birthday: RAIN! I love love love the rain. Such a great day with my daddy and Madi. And then a really fun totally last minute dinner with most of my friends. Once again. I love my friends.
I got new computer! Macbook pro 13 inch. Thanks so much to everyone who contributed to my computer fund (set up by Nicole) and my grandparents. I am so grateful.
Madi also gave me like 500 awesome presents. BEST BEST FRIEND EVER. And a bunch of other people gave me awesome gifts.

Looking back on this whole weekend.
1. I think I win the craziest party of the year award. But thats never happening again.
2. I really do have the kindest, funniest, smartest, most trustworthy group of friends (I know I have said that like 10 times but its really true).

living for today

30 years ago John Lennon was murdered in New York. He created music which touched the souls of hundreds around the world. He envisioned a world without greed, without suffering, and he tried to a achieve the world of his imagination through music.
May he forever rest in peace.

Day # 2!!

Recording Day # 2!!
So today I went to Lee Curerri's studio in Venice again and I recorded another song! So now I have two songs in progress!!
The song I recorded is a new one that almost no one has heard called "Away". Its a sad song that I really like, but I was really nervous about it because I belt pretty high in it. I came in with the song about 90% finished on the guitar, but Lee and I decided on the piano the song would sound clearer and richer, which I think is more fitting for the lyric and melody. We also tweaked the chorus a bit and now it sounds so cool. Next time I will lay down a couple more vocal tracks and maybe some harmonies (which I need to ask Madi for help with because she is a beast at harmonies).
Also, the guitarist/mandolin player is coming in soon so he will work with me on "How Love Goes" and maybe some other stuff!

AAAAAAAH!! THIS IS ALL SO FANTASTIC AND EXCITING!!

Happy belated THANKSGIVING!!

I didn't get to post yesterday, but happy turkey day!

Recording: Day 1!

Today I recorded "How Love Goes" with Lee Curreri in his Venice studio! I came in there with about ten songs but we decided that "How Love Goes" was the simplest, easiest song to do now.

First we recorded the guitar, with a click track and a little temp percussion track, and then we did the vocals three times through. Also, I included a verse which I never sing in public, because it makes it really obvious who I'm singing about...so theres a little something new!  I'm really really really excited to keep working on this song!

(we are thinking about adding a mandolin track, and I might want to add some claps like in
"King of Anything" by Sara Bareilles -- but we'll see!)

I'll post the rough cut when he sends it in!

super rough. don't judge.

I have a myspace... I know.
But apparently its really good for musicians!

The songs my page were recorded once through and they are rough so there are some mistakes.

Here it is though:

Check it! (or wait until I put better versions up)

First.

Right now life is pretty stressful, but I cant complain.  Its all good.
The one thing that really does save me is music.

I sing non-stop... I'd say I sing more than I talk
I love choir even though it can be frustrating sometimes
I write songs about everything and everyone... but really

So I'm going to keep track of everything music in my life (and maybe some other stuff too).

this blog was inspired by Nicole :)
